“So Lucky” — Catherine Tyldesley Shares Heartwarming Post With Fellow Corrie Star

Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has shared a “lucky” update with her co-star. The 42-year-old actress recently reprised her role as Eva Price after seven years away from the soap. She returned to the cobbles in October last year as landlady of the Rovers Return, bringing the new Driscoll family with her.

Actors Aaron McCusker and Pauline McLynn arrived alongside Catherine as Eva’s partner Ben Driscoll and his interfering mother Maggie. The family have slotted seamlessly into life in Weatherfield and are central to one of the show’s most prominent storylines at the moment.

Cath has over 600,000 followers on Instagram and regularly updates fans on her life off-screen.

In a recent post on social media, the soap star shared a photo alongside her on-screen husband Aaron McCusker. Cath feels “lucky” to work with the Irish actor and shared a heartfelt post dedicated to the Ben Driscoll star.

Catherine said their paths have “almost crossed” multiple times in the past and feels they were destined to work together one day.

She said: “I am so lucky to work with this gent everyday. Our paths have almost crossed several times in the past with castings for other projects and I’ve admired his work for a long time- here we are, finally working together!

“The universe clearly had a plan! What an actor this guy is, such fine, detailed work and so generous. But also one of the nicest, funniest people I know.

“It’s a bloody pleasure standing behind that bar with you each day @aaronmccusker6474 (especially when you bring Turkish delight or dark chocolate.”

Taking to the comments, Kirkby-born actor Tony Maudsley who plays George Shuttleworth, said: “Ahhh now this just works a treat!! Perfect match!!”

One follower called Charley said: “We second that.”

Speaking about her return to the cobbles back in October last year, Catherine told the ECHO and other press it felt like the “right time”.

She said: “I always wanted to come back because Eva is so much fun to play.” Speaking about getting the call to return to Corrie, she said: “I was in Malta filming and my agent said that Kate Brooks [producer] would like to speak to me about Corrie. I assumed it was somebody’s funeral and they wanted me to come.”

“But when Kate said ‘Would you like to be landlady’ I screamed. I was just really shocked because it’s an absolute dream of mine. I remember watching the show as a kid and thinking I’d kill to be landlady one day.”
