Charlotte Crosby’s dream getaway to the Maldives took an unexpected turn when she was rushed to hospital. The 35 year old reality television personality had travelled to the tropical paradise to celebrate the new year with her fiancé Jake Ankers and their two daughters, Alba, three, and Pixie, 11 months.
On their final day abroad, Charlotte revealed she had been violently ill and experiencing severe weakness, though she initially tried to power through the symptoms.
Posting on her social media Stories, she explained: “Our last day in the Maldives and I’ve bloody been throwing up and felt so weak. Pushed through and went on a dolphin trip this morning, but we didn’t see any. Gutted because I was so excited for Alba! There’s always next time!”.
Shortly afterwards, she uploaded a photograph from a hospital bed whilst wearing an oxygen mask, writing: “Well this wasn’t on my bingo card.”
The former Geordie Shore star, who returned to the UK yesterday, has not yet provided followers with an update on her condition, reports the Mirror.
Earlier in the trip, the mother-of-two found herself defending her parenting choices after posting what some perceived as a controversial image. Following a flight delay, Charlotte and Jake had been keeping 11-month-old Pixie entertained on the aircraft by allowing her to hold onto a fire exit sign whilst they supported her.
Charlotte then edited Jake out of the photograph, creating the illusion that Pixie was dangling unsupported, which prompted criticism from some followers. In the caption accompanying the photo, Charlotte wrote with humour: “We couldn’t find Pixi anywhere on the flight. We could just hear her laughing … then we looked up and she was HANGING from the exit sign. What’s she like these second children are wild! ! Gunna have to watch her closely in Maldives or she might be off on the jet skis before Yano it.”
However, following the post, the reality star was inundated with messages from what she dubbed the “mam police” who were “losing their s***” in her direct messages after believing Pixi was hanging from the fire exit sign unattended.
Responding to the barrage of comments, Charlotte clarified: ” ‘Right we have landed in the Maldives wait until I tell you all the adventure it took to get here … BUT FIRST why have I been getting sooooo many messages of people kicking off at Pixi doing pull ups on the fire exit sign!”.
“Let the girl live for god’s sake! ! ! ! ! ! ! LMAO come on yous! You didn’t actually think that was real did you?”.
“I just photoshopped Jake out we were delayed for ages on the run way and bored! And couldn’t stop laughing at how Pixi looked like she was dangling herself! When I tell you the mam police have been losing their s*** in my inbox!”.
