The Only Way Is Essex couple Shelby Tribble and Sam Mucklow have announced their engagement while on holiday for the New Year.
Shelby, 33, announced on Instagram that she said yes to Sam Mucklow after he popped the big question during a romantic proposal in South Africa. The reality star showed off her stunning engagement ring, which consisted of a sizeable oval-shaped diamond on a thin band.
Shelby revealed the romantic way Sam proposed as she held up her hand in front of a romantic backdrop consisting of a giant heart made from red roses and a neon sign in the middle which reads: “Will you marry me?” Shelby tagged her new fiancé Sam and the location as Campus Bay in Western Cape, South Africa.
She then sweetly wrote in the caption: “YES a million times over. You are the love of my life. I can’t wait to marry you”.
She was soon flooded with messages of congratulations in the comments as Amber Turner wrote: “Omggggg! Congratulations so happy for u love u both xxxxx”. Courtney Green added: “Ahhhhh shibs!!!! So happy for you”, while Georgia Kousoulou gushed: “Oh my !! So so happy for you”.
A delighted Shelby replied to the well wishes with: “THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR ALL YOU’RE AMAZING MESSAGES I’M STILL IN SHOCK”, while Sam wrote: “Thank you everyone for all your congrats. Happy new year biglove.”
Shelby and Sam have sons, Abel, five, and Teskey, eight months, and have been together since 2019 after starring on TOWIE together. The couple previously got engaged in 2019, but split in 2023 after four years together.
At the time, the split didn’t come as a surprise to fans as Shelby had been posting cryptic messages on social media, including a post which read: “Go where you are celebrated not tolerated”, alongside a photo of her alone on a night out.
However, five months after their split, they rekindled their romance, which was revealed when they jetted off on holiday together. They then announced they were expecting their second child in October 2024 and in April 2025, Shelby and Sam announced the arrival of their second son, baby Teskey, in a sweet Instagram video compilation.
Shelby penned in the caption: “We are completely in love with you. Our hearts have doubled after being blessed with another beautiful boy. Our Teskey”.
