Coronation Street’s Jacob Roberts has thrilled fans after posting a video from his latest romantic getaway with his girlfriend, whom he met whilst working on the soap.
Jacob joined the ITV programme in 2024, portraying corrupt police officer Kit – the long-lost son of Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) – and it wasn’t long before he became embroiled in explosive storylines.
From discovering he has a secret son, Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey), to being left fighting for his life after a brutal stabbing, Kit’s stint in Weatherfield has been packed with high-octane drama.
The cobbles charmer has also enjoyed his fair share of romantic entanglements on screen, including a passionate affair with Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) before finding true love with Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien).
Off-screen, however, actor Jacob is currently in a relationship with someone he encountered on the ITV soap: Coronation Street’s PR executive Caitlin Connolly, reports the Mirror.
The couple made their romance official back in October and have been going from strength to strength ever since. This week, they shared a video across their Instagram accounts showcasing their luxurious overseas break.

In the clip, the loved-up pair could be seen basking in the sunshine and exploring stunning locations. The post was captioned: “The best end to the best year. HNY.”
It wasn’t long before followers and fellow Corrie stars began gushing over the footage. Georgia Taylor, who portrays Toyah Habeeb, commented: “You two!” whilst Todd Grimshaw actor Gareth Pierce responded with sun and love heart eyes emojis. Meanwhile, one smitten fan wrote: “You guys are literally the cutest.”
Another chimed in with: “Lovely video.” A third joined in, saying: “Gorgeous! Happy New Year.” And another added: “Happy New Year to the cutest couple.”
It’s been a whirlwind week on the cobbles for Jacob’s character Kit, who’s been on a mission to uncover the truth about Carla Connor’s (Alison King) mysterious disappearance. Viewers will recall that she was abducted by the villainous Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) and held captive in a utility cupboard.
In the episode aired on 2nd January, Kit managed to locate the flat where Becky had been hiding Carla. However, he arrived too late, with Carla nowhere in sight.
Despite this, he discovered a strand of hair, which he promptly sent off for analysis. The lab results later confirmed it indeed belonged to Carla.
