Jacob’s split from long-term girlfriend
When Jacob first joined Coronation Street, he was in a long-term relationship with PR professional Amy Harris. However, in October 2024, the couple ended their five-year relationship, reports the Mirror.
Last year, the soap star sparked rumours of a breakup when he removed all photos of Amy from his Instagram profile, a move that Amy reciprocated in October 2024, seemingly confirming their split.
The former couple were often spotted at glamorous events and intimate dinners, but the reason for their breakup remains unknown, according to OK!
Jacob’s new romance with soap colleague
Fast forward to October this year, and Jacob made his relationship with new girlfriend Caitlin Connolly, Coronation Street’s PR, Instagram official. The pair met on the set of the popular ITV soap.
Their relationship was seemingly confirmed with a sweet selfie. In the picture, Jacob and Caitlin are seen posing together, with Jacob adding a love heart emoji to the photo.
Speaking about their rumoured romance, an insider claimed that they had “been together for a while” and were “besotted with each other”. The source added that “it’s been an open secret they’re an item for quite a while”.
Jacob’s PDA-filled post
Since then, the couple’s relationship has only grown stronger. In October, Jacob shared a PDA-filled photo of the pair kissing, captioning the post: “My love [love heart emoji] to the Ainsworth’s.”
Their Corrie co-stars have shown their approval of the romance, with many leaving swooning comments. Sydney Martin, who plays Betsy Swain, wrote: “Beautiful couple.” Samia Longchambon, who portrays Maria Connor, commented: “Gorgeous pair!”.
Jacob’s on-screen girlfriend Tina O’Brien, who plays Sarah, said: “Oh you two!” Vicky Myers, who plays Lisa Swain, also chimed in with: “Gorgeous.”
