King Charles has long been celebrated as a champion of sustainable fashion, and his latest venture reinforces that reputation: £200 wool blankets now on sale at the Sandringham Estate gift shop.

HELLO! has discovered that the blankets are crafted using wool from the King’s own Aberfield sheep. Approximately 3,000 sheep roam Sandringham’s organic pastures, and their lambs’ wool has been transformed into thick, luxurious green blankets—arriving just in time for the UK’s cold spell.
A sign in the shop explains: “The Sandringham wool blanket is made from 100 per cent Sandringham wool. The wool is sourced from the lambs of Aberfield ewes crossed with Aberfield rams from the 3,000-strong flock that graze and regenerate the soil at Sandringham.”
Aberfield sheep are prized for their resilience and positive environmental impact, making them an integral part of the King’s organic farming approach.
The flock also provides organic, 100 per cent grass-fed meat, which is served in the estate’s café and restaurant.

The Sandringham Estate
King Charles took over the running of the 21,000-acre Sandringham Estate in 2017. Since then, he has resurrected the gardens, which had been abandoned for 50 years.

The environmentally minded royal has introduced organic farming methods across the estate and implemented agroforestry, a land-management approach that combines trees and shrubs with crop and livestock production.
He also restored the estate’s Maze and created the Topiary Garden, drawing inspiration from one of his earliest childhood memories: the topiary yews planted by Queen Alexandra in the ornamental garden of Sandringham’s Dairy Cottage.
Christmas at Sandringham
In just a few weeks’ time, the King and Queen will be heading down to Sandringham to spend the festive break with their family. As is tradition, the couple will be joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three young children, as well as the Princess Royal, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
