Kelvin Fletcher shares update after serious injury as farm life descends into chaos

Kelvin Fletcher has shared a concerning health update with fans on the latest episode of his ITV reality series, Fletchers’ Family Farm.

The installment, which aired on November 23, revealed the full extent of injuries the former Emmerdale actor suffered during a charity rugby match.

Fletcher had joined professional athletes Gareth Ellis, Mark Flanagan, and Danny McGuire to raise funds for the David Lewis Centre, a charity supporting people with complex needs.

Initially sidelined, Fletcher later took to the field and was tackled during the game. Reflecting on the incident, he admitted: “I’m hoping, fingers crossed, I’ve not, but it feels like I’ve torn a bicep.”

In the latest episode, Kelvin revealed that a scan had confirmed he indeed has a torn bicep, leaving him unable to fully manage his farm duties.

“I need to find a potential understudy,” he told viewers, contemplating whether he could still take his Lincoln Red cows to the Royal Cheshire Show.

Turning to his wife Liz, he added: “My arm is killing me still. My arm’s really sore and I’m just thinking whether it’s best you taking them. You’ll be fine. Let’s just see, but just on standby. How do you feel about that?”

Liz, clearly less than thrilled, replied: “Well, not great, obviously.” Kelvin reassured her, saying: “Despite the adversity, despite the hiccups, we’re still going to go.”

Later in the episode, Liz opened up about her nerves over showing the cows, telling the cameras:

“Where I thought I was just going to be having a lovely day at the Cheshire Show with the kids, no pressure, no worries, I’m now told I might have to step in and be the one in the ring with the cow because of Kelvin’s injury.”

She added: “I feel more underprepared than last year. He’s got a beautiful, calm temperament, but it’s about how he reacts to the other bulls. But we’re in it now—what can we do? We’re going.”

As if a torn bicep wasn’t enough, Kelvin was also shown nursing a paper cut, prompting Liz to tease him as a “delicate flower” before giving him a supportive hug.

Fletchers’ Family Farm airs on ITV1 every Sunday, with episodes available to stream on ITVX.
