Dianne Buswell jokingly suggested she might swap her dancing career for comedy after joining Chris McCausland at one of his live stand-up podcast shows.
The Strictly Come Dancing professional, who lifted last year’s Glitterball Trophy alongside the comedian, reunited with him on Tuesday and later posted a selfie from the event.

In her caption, the 36-year-old said she had stepped “into Chris’ world” and performed on a stage full of comedians, adding that she thought she did well because she heard the audience laughing — even if it might have been out of sympathy. She also called it “so nice” to see her former dance partner again.
Buswell then teased followers with a playful question: “Should I hang up the dance shoes and pick up a mic? Let’s see what Chris says on our next podcast!”
The dancer has also been sharing pregnancy updates online. On Wednesday, she posted a clip following a popular TikTok trend, showing off her now more pronounced baby bump while wearing a fitted black jumpsuit and sunglasses.
In the video, Buswell lip-synced the line, “Nobody is going to know,” before turning to the side to reveal her growing bump and adding, “They’re going to know.”
She captioned the post with a relatable admission: “Getting dressed for rehearsals is getting a little harder these days.”
Support quickly poured in from friends and fans. Fellow Strictly pro Lauren Oakley joked, “Baby’s like ‘I’m heeeere!!!’” while Ashley Roberts added a sweet comment: “Aww so cute though.”

Dianne Buswell and her partner Joe Sugg — who first met as Strictly partners back in 2018 — are preparing to welcome their first child, a baby boy with what they’ve hinted will be a “unique” name.
This year, Buswell made Strictly history as the first professional dancer to take part in the competition while pregnant. Although her time on the show ended early after her celebrity partner Stefan Dennis pulled out due to injury, she remained involved in group routines and has continued to silence critics.
After receiving online comments claiming a pregnant woman shouldn’t be dancing, Buswell fired back with a confident at-home video showing off her moves, even including a cartwheel.
“For all the people saying they can’t watch a pregnant girl dance! I just can’t help it when I hear the beat,” she captioned defiantly.

Despite the challenges of pregnancy, Dianne Buswell has kept her signature energy and passion for dance.
On It Takes Two, she reflected: “This is my ninth year on Strictly, and honestly, it still feels like the first year. Everyone’s like, ‘When are you going to leave?’ I’m like, ‘No! How many more years can I do? That’s the question!’”
Her experience partnering with Chris McCausland last year also changed how she approaches the show. In an interview with Prima magazine, she said: “I feel just as excited as any other year, and I’ve put no expectations on myself.”
“Last year taught me it’s not about perfection. I used to think of winning, winning, winning, but the past few years it hasn’t been about that at all—maybe that comes with age and maturity,” she added.
She described how her journey with McCausland, who became Strictly’s first blind winner, shifted her perspective: “Chris and I could have left at any point and would have gone thinking we’d won anyway. It doesn’t feel like a competition anymore.”
Their friendship continues through their podcast Winning Isn’t Everything, and their on-stage reunion thrilled fans in attendance.

Fans were thrilled by Dianne Buswell and Chris McCausland’s reunion, sharing their excitement online.
One audience member wrote: “I cannot BELIEVE I was lucky enough to see this!!! Found out I had tickets a few weeks ago and just OMG — Chris and Dianne reunited and absolutely hilarious. Can’t wait to hear what makes the final edit and SO GLAD I got to hear the whole thing.”
Another joked: “I wonder what’s scarier, a comedian stepping into the dancing world, or a dancer stepping into the comedy world? Hope you had the best time!”
Many viewers praised the duo’s enduring friendship, calling the moment “team back together at last.”
