Dick & Angel Usher In a New Era as Escape to the Chateau Is Officially Back

Dick and Angel Strawbridge have delighted fans by sharing a collection of beautiful Halloween-themed photos from their château. The update comes just weeks after the pair revealed that Escape to the Chateau will be returning to television. The popular series documents their remarkable journey from life in the UK to taking on a neglected French château in need of total restoration.

The show first premiered on Channel 4 in 2016, a year after they bought the long-abandoned property. What was once an uninhabitable building empty for 40 years has since been transformed into a breathtaking 45-room home.

Dick and Angel, along with their children Arthur and Dorothy, have now spent more than ten years bringing the château back to life, with their distinctive touches still being added to this day. They frequently share glimpses of their gorgeous grounds and rarely seen corners of their home on social media.

In their latest post, the couple showcased vibrant photos from their spectacular Halloween celebration inside the château. They wrote:
“The Strawbridge family really knows how to celebrate the holidays! Creative, festive, and full of fun Halloween à la Château was a wonderful success.

“With Arthur and Dorothy now attending senior school (or college, as it’s known in France), we had lots of new faces joining the festivities this year but our cherished Château Halloween traditions remain as strong as ever!”

The Strawbridges shared that their Halloween night was packed with fun and frights, from a spooky treasure hunt—enhanced by their helpful Château team hiding in the shadows—to the traditional toilet paper mummy contest and apple bobbing. The evening was filled with just as many screams as giggles.

They added that today would mostly be spent clearing away faux cobwebs, while Dorothy has already started humming Christmas melodies a sure sign that the seasons are shifting once again at the Château. They ended with: “Have a Super Sunday! XXX.”

Fans quickly jumped into the comments section with praise and excitement. One follower wrote: “How lovely I can’t believe how tall Dorothy has gotten.” Another commented: “Everyone’s costumes were amazing, but Angel’s was absolute perfection! Looked like the ideal Halloween celebration.” A third fan shared their anticipation: “I’m so looking forward to series 10,” while a fourth added: “Absolutely love these photos!! xx.”

Escape to the Chateau originally paused in 2022 after the ninth season wrapped, leaving many viewers hoping for more. Now, fans are thrilled as the Strawbridge family has officially confirmed the show’s return for its tenth series.

Last month, they announced the news on Facebook, writing:
“We are delighted to share that production for Escape to the Chateau, Series 10, is officially underway!

“It has been wonderful welcoming back our filming family the unsung heroes working behind the scenes. Ever since we fell in love with the Château in 2014, it has taken us on the adventure of a lifetime.

“In 2022, we made the important decision to pause filming and close Series 9 with the most magical celebration we could have imagined.

“Now, as a family, we’ve entered a new chapter. With Arthur and Dorothy happily settled into college, Series 10 brings more change and growth than the Château has ever seen!

“We promised we’d bring the cameras back when the time was right for us to share an update, and perhaps even a Christmas Special… and that moment has arrived! Thank you for being part of our story we can’t wait to share this next enchanting chapter with you.”
