Escape to the Chateau stars Angel and Dick Strawbridge marked the season in spectacular fashion, turning their French castle into a spine-tingling themed mansion.

Posting updates online, the couple revealed they had hosted their annual spooky celebration for their children, Arthur, 12, and Dorothy, 11. Sharing photos of the elaborate setup, they described the evening as a “huge success,” giving fans a glimpse into the festivities.

The well-known family showed off their creative costumes as they posed throughout the chateau, happily celebrating with friends.

Alongside a gallery of festive photos, Dick, 66, and his 47-year-old wife Angel shared a caption with fans describing their evening. They wrote:
“Halloween à la Château was a huge success! With Arthur and Dorothy both in senior school (or college, as it’s called here in France), there were plenty of new faces this year — but our Château’s Halloween traditions are still going strong!”

They went on to detail the night’s activities: “From the Spooky Hunt (with our amazing Château Helpers hiding in the shadows to add to the fright!) to the classic toilet paper mummy challenge and apple bobbing, it was a night of equal parts laughter and shrieks.

Today will mostly be spent de-cobwebbing… and Dorothy has already started humming Christmas tunes it seems the seasons are changing once again at the Château! Have a Super Sunday!”

For the party at their home in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, Angel dazzled in a long black velvet gown with a plunging neckline. The dress featured long sleeves adorned with silver cobweb motifs.

She completed her Halloween look with purple iridescent horns, tight curls framing her red bob, bold red lips, and silver ballet flats, perfectly combining spooky and stylish.

The Strawbridges hosted their Halloween celebration at their home in Martigné-sur-Mayenne. Dick kept his look simple, wearing a brown waistcoat over a white shirt paired with navy trousers.

Choosing Frankenstein as his costume, he topped the outfit with a headpiece featuring the monster’s signature bolts and dark hair. Arthur dressed as a monk, complete with a long chain, cross, and wizard’s hat, while Dorothy posed in an all-black ensemble topped with a classic witch’s hat.

Fans quickly flocked to the comment section to praise the family’s festive efforts, describing the home transformation as “creative.” One wrote: “The Strawbridge family knows how to do the holidays right! So creative and festive!”

Another added, “So fun. I wish I was invited,” while a third commented, “Love the Strawbridge traditions.”

As for why the adventurous couple moved to France, it wasn’t part of a lifelong plan but rather a happy accident. Dick and Angel explained: “We never really decided where we would like to live as a couple.

After being together for a year, we went on holiday to Carcassonne, France, and we couldn’t believe how affordable the properties were there.”

Dick continued: “By this point, we had decided we were going to be together and start a family. We were looking ahead and liked the idea of a simple life in the countryside. We spent four years searching for the right property, but when we found the château, it was love at first sight.”
