A Place In The Sun’s Laura Hamilton victim of AI

Laura Hamilton has revealed the scary truth about AI as she admits she has been violated by AI fakes. The TV presenter, 43, issued a warning to fans as she opened up on her traumatic experience on social media.

The television star, who is best known for hosting A Place in the Sun on Channel 4, took to her Instagram on Thursday, where she explained that several celebrities have become victim of the use of modern technology, which sees their likeness generated by artificial intelligence and used in a p****graphic sense.

She said: “I am becoming increasingly concerned about something, and I know I’m not the only one affected, but I’m not OK with it. And I’m pretty sure the other people aren’t either.

“So on Facebook there appears to be a number of profiles where somebody is stealing images of people in the public eye and recreating extremely inappropriate videos of us all.

“So I’ve seen myself, Laura Tobin, Rachel Riley, Amanda Holden, Charlotte Hawkins. So many of us and these videos basically are created from images that we post and then we are getting down to our underwear or swimwear or doing inappropriate things.

“Now it’s not us but these images are being created through AI.” Laura added that the technology has now got so advanced, members of the public are unable to tell whether the videos are genuine or not. She said: “It’s got to the point where people are asking me whether that is genuine.

“And it’s got to the point where the videos I do post people are questioning whether it’s real or AI. Now I do not know what we can do but it’s come to the point where it’s become really dangerous.”

However, OpenAI has made its policies very clear about the prohibition of manipulating someone’s image without the person’s consent. “You may not edit images or videos that depict any real individual without their explicit consent,” its site read.

“You may not create images or videos as means to impersonate, harass, intimidate, or otherwise harm the depicted individual or perpetrate fraud against others.”
