Escape to the Chateau stars Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree this year have been touring the UK with their new show, Forever Home, but have left the door open for a return to TV.
About six months ago, Dick and Angel Strawbridge reflected on why they had actually decided to end Escape to the Chateau. They admitted that back in 2022, they had a “huge conversation” as a family. They realised that their children — Arthur and Dorothy — were entering a critical phase: Arthur was about to start secondary school, and Dorothy was becoming more aware of the cameras.
Dick said that even though they could’ve kept filming, they chose to walk away on purpose, because they believed it was “exactly the right thing to do.”
Angel agreed, explaining that the constant presence of cameras had been a lot on their kids all year round.
They also denied claims that they were “dropped” by Channel 4. According to Dick, they told everyone in early 2022 that they were finishing, and the end of filming was their own decision.
Dick added that even though they had more stories they could’ve shared on the show, they prioritised their family — for them, finishing the show felt right because “family is the most important thing.”
