BBC Invites UK Viewers to Join the Next Series of The Traitors

Brits are being encouraged to apply for the 2026 series of The Traitors.

The BBC has put out a new casting call for Brits who believe they “have what it takes” to join the next series of The Traitors but hopefuls will need to be quick, as there’s a deadline to apply.

The hit reality competition sees 22 strangers live together and take part in missions to build up a prize pot, while a select few are secretly chosen as “Traitors.” Their goal? To deceive and “murder” the other contestants known as the “Faithfuls” without being caught. Each night, Faithfuls must vote to banish one player they suspect of betrayal before they become the next victims themselves.

Currently, The Celebrity Traitors is airing on BBC One, bringing the high-stakes drama to a star-studded cast. Filmed against the hauntingly beautiful backdrop of the Scottish Highlands, this special edition features 19 famous faces, including singer Cat Burns, comedian Lucy Beaumont, and actor and writer Stephen Fry, among others.

Before the celebrity edition of the hit competition show wraps up, the BBC is already on the lookout for contestants to take part in next year’s regular series of The Traitors.

Hopefuls have several months to decide whether they’re brave enough to join the game of deceit and strategy, with applications for the 2026 series closing on May 31, 2026.

Announcing the casting call, the BBC said: “The Traitors is back, and we are looking for fun, smart and strategic players to take part in the ultimate game of trust and treachery!”

Described as “a competition built on strategy, suspicion and deception,” the show is filmed in the dramatic Scottish Highlands. Contestants must work together to complete missions and build up a prize pot — but hidden among them are secret “Traitors,” who meet in secret to plot the elimination of the unsuspecting “Faithful.”

The Traitors must remain undetected to the very end, while the Faithful aim to expose and banish them before it’s too late. The BBC promises “twists, turns, rigorous challenges, shocks and surprises” throughout the series as players battle their way to the finale.

The BBC teased what’s in store for future contestants, saying: “Expect trickery, betrayal and backstabbing. Do you have what it takes to play? Apply now — get them before they get you!”

They also added that anyone with questions about the application process, or those who require accessibility support, can contact the team directly at traitorsuk@studiolambert.com.
