Following their exit from Strictly Come Dancing, Daly and Winkleman to host BBC show

The BBC is said to be eager for Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman to co-host a new show together after leaving Strictly Come Dancing.

The BBC is reportedly keen for Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman to team up on a new show following their exit from Strictly Come Dancing, while Claudia has also been offered her own chat show.

Executives are weighing whether to pair them in another entertainment format or perhaps try something different, like a quiz or travel series. This move is seen as part of the BBC’s strategy to compete with streaming platforms, which have already attracted big names such as Jeremy Clarkson and Holly Willoughby.

Meanwhile, 53-year-old Claudia is set to front her own chat show, produced by So Television, the company behind The Graham Norton Show. Claudia, who hosts The Traitors, had previously filled in for Graham Norton, 62, last year.

With some of his series running shorter than before, the BBC sees a new programme as a way to fill the gap in its schedule.

A source revealed that the BBC’s plan is aimed at retaining top talent like Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly. They believe that by offering the presenters the right projects, the pair are more likely to stay loyal to the corporation.

The source explained that both Claudia and Tess had their lives dominated for three to four months each year due to the demands of hosting a live show. The hope is that shorter commitments projects taking only days or weeks would make them more willing to accept new opportunities.

Additionally, the source noted that the duo would likely enjoy working together again, given their strong friendship. While Claudia’s chat show is already at an advanced stage, the BBC is holding off on making a firm offer for a joint show with Tess until the excitement over their departure from Strictly settles.
