Dancing With the Stars fans stunned by Robert Irwin’s unexpected announcement

Every Tuesday night, Dancing With the Stars viewers tune in to watch Robert Irwin compete for the coveted mirrorball trophy in season 34.

But while he’s dazzling audiences with his dance moves, the beloved wildlife conservationist and zookeeper has surprised fans with news of another huge career move that’s been quietly in the works.

Robert Irwin surprised fans on October 10 when he announced via TikTok that he’ll be voicing a character in Disney’s upcoming Zootopia 2, set to hit theaters on November 26, 2025. The wildlife conservationist and Dancing With the Stars contestant revealed that his animated alter ego is a koala named Robert Furwin a playful nod to his own name.

Fans were quick to celebrate the news, pointing out how perfect the role is for him given his background at the Australia Zoo. One user gushed, “Robert Irwin is the closest thing to a real-life Disney prince as we can get!” Another joked, “So basically Robert Irwin is voicing himself as a koala.” A third added, “Probably the only reason I’m gonna watch Zootopia 2.”

No one saw this coming from Robert Irwin but it couldn’t be more perfect! The surprise feels especially fitting since he recently impressed Dancing With the Stars audiences with a lively Cha Cha routine to “Try Everything” from the original Zootopia soundtrack during the show’s Disney Night on October 7.
