This week on Coronation Street, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) picked up Trisha Pinkerton (Anita Booth) during one of his cab shifts, and it quickly became clear that she recognized him.
After a brief chat, Tim realized he also knew Trisha, and the two spent the rest of the episode catching up, reigniting their old connection.
Their reunion, however, created tension with Tim’s wife, Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor), who had been waiting to celebrate their wedding anniversary. When Tim revealed where he’d been and who he’d been with, Sally was hurt and ordered him to sleep on the sofa.
However, Sally is set to soften in upcoming scenes when she realises who Trisha really is, and what she has done.
Who is Trisha Pinkerton in Coronation Street?
Earlier this week on Coronation Street, Tim Metcalfe revealed to Sally and his friends that Trisha Pinkerton (Anita Booth) was an ex-girlfriend from his past. It became clear that they hadn’t seen each other in decades and had plenty to catch up on.
In tonight’s episode, Trisha visited the cab office, where Tim introduced her to Brian Packham (Peter Gunn).
When Brian later asked how they knew each other, Tim explained that he used to deliver papers to her dad, and that Trisha had worked in the local corner shop.
However, the revelation that Trisha had been 20 at the time while Tim was just 14 left Brian horrified.
What did Trisha do to Tim?
While Tim tried to frame his past with Trisha as something that boosted his popularity among peers, Brian explained the serious truth: it was grooming.
Because Tim was a minor at the time, Trisha had taken advantage of him, making their encounters sexual abuse.
In upcoming scenes, Sally attempts to help Tim recognise what happened, but he continues to deny it. During a conversation in tonight’s episode, Brian asked Tim to imagine how he would feel if his daughter, Faye, had been involved with a much older man as a teenager.
Tim argued it was different, saying “she’s a girl” and that his experience occurred in “a different time.” Brian maintained that it was still abuse, but Tim refused to see it that way.
The big question remains: will Sally and Brian be able to help Tim come to terms with his past?

Anita Booth, the actress behind Trisha in Coronation Street, has appeared in numerous TV series, including Holby City, Doctors, and DCI Banks.
Most recently, she played Miriam in the film A Teacher’s Gift.
Trisha isn’t Anita’s first role on Coronation Street she previously appeared as Nadine in a single 2012 episode. Nadine was part of a group of hauliers’ wives who enjoyed lunch at Nick’s Bistro.
