After wrapping up her magazine placement in London, Bethany Platt (played by Lucy Fallon) is set to start a brand-new chapter in upcoming Coronation Street episodes — a new job back in Weatherfield.
Lucy Fallon has recently returned to the ITV soap following her maternity leave, and her comeback scenes as Bethany, which aired last week, were nothing short of surprising.
In a dramatic twist, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) was caught off guard when he walked into an interview room and found Bethany already seated at the table. She was being questioned over an accusation of stealing a car belonging to her former boss at the London magazine.
Bethany insisted she hadn’t meant any harm, explaining that she truly believed Ms. Stokes wouldn’t even notice one of her many cars had gone missing.

Bethany, however, left out one rather crucial detail during her chat. When Kit noticed her referring to a colleague in the past tense, she reluctantly admitted that she had actually quit her job a week earlier.
Not exactly ideal.
It turned out Bethany had faced an impossible choice resign or be fired. She’d been pushing herself too hard, working endless hours on a story, and in her exhaustion, accidentally sent a sensitive email to the wrong person. The mistake caused serious trouble at the company and brought her career crashing down.
That interview could have completely changed Bethany’s life, but luck was on her side Kit just happened to be her mum Sarah’s boyfriend.
A short time later, Bethany was back in Weatherfield, with Kit having managed to smooth things over. The pair agreed to keep the whole ordeal secret from Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien).

As Bethany Platt settled back into life on the cobbles, her attention turned to a familiar face — her ex, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
During a tense conversation in the Bistro, Bethany was quick to make it clear that she had no intention of rekindling their relationship. To her surprise, Daniel completely agreed, admitting that he believed the two were toxic together and would be far better off staying friends.
The following week, Bethany begins her first shift at the salon, where she’s put in charge of Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan), who’s there on work experience.
Things take a turn when a client arrives, proudly showing off a bottle of so-called “miracle pills” that promise stronger hair and weight loss. While Hope seems intrigued, Bethany warns her that such companies only care about profit, not people’s health.
But as the client prepares to leave, she realises the pills have vanished. Bethany quickly accuses Hope of stealing them, demanding she empty her bag. When Hope refuses, Bethany tries to grab it and in the struggle, her stoma bag accidentally bursts, leaving her utterly humiliated and heartbroken.

Earlier this year, Bethany Platt underwent cosmetic surgery in Turkey, a decision that would change her life forever. The procedure went tragically wrong, leading to life-threatening complications when she developed sepsis during the operation.
As a result, Bethany was fitted with a permanent stoma bag, a reality she has found incredibly difficult to accept. In the months that followed, she struggled deeply with her self-esteem and confidence, trying to come to terms with her new life and the challenges that came with it.
