Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley is reprising her role as Eva Price on the ITV soap and has shared a behind-the-scenes snap.
Coronation Street favourite Catherine Tyldesley has revealed an intriguing real-life connection with one of her co-stars as she prepares for her much-anticipated return to the soap.
The 42-year-old actress is reprising her role as Eva Price, currently filming new scenes for her comeback to the ITV drama — though fans haven’t yet seen her back on screen.
Eva, who first appeared in 2011 and was last seen in 2018, is returning to Weatherfield as the new landlady of The Rovers Return. This time, she’s not coming alone she’ll arrive alongside her boyfriend Ben Driscoll (played by Aaron McCusker) and his mother Maggie (played by Pauline McLynn).
Before her exciting comeback, Catherine Tyldesley shared a behind-the-scenes photo with James Cartwright, who plays Theo Silverton.
The pair are pictured together on the pub set, dressed as Eva and Theo but this isn’t the first time they’ve crossed paths. Catherine revealed that she and James have been close friends since their teenage years, having first met at theatre school when they were just 13.
Alongside the sweet snapshot, Catherine wrote: “This one! We first met at theatre school age 13! Now we’re both in Weatherfield!”
Catherine added a playful caption to her post, writing: “Lovely to be reunited with my old pal James. A wonderful man and a stellar actor! Ooooooh Theo you nasty pasty!”
Coronation Street fans were quick to flood the comments with excitement. One viewer wrote: “Fantastic actor he has me and my daughter screaming at the TV! Oi, Theo, leave our Todd alone! Nasty villain award well deserved for James next time round. Can’t wait to see you back on screen, Catherine hope it’s soon, beautiful lady.”
Another fan chimed in: “Big fan of his dad a great playwright. This chap seems like a jolly fellow. From The Archers to The Rovers good luck to him!”
A third chimed in: “Lovely Photo love them both xxxxxxxxx”, while another added: “Can’t wait for you to come back, miss you.”
Catherine’s precise comeback date remains unconfirmed by Corrie chiefs.
Nevertheless, it seems she’ll encounter Theo, who has been inflicting dreadful domestic violence upon Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).
