The former Geordie Shore star’s latest performance on the BBC show left her making emotional comments live on air.

Vicky Pattison has apologised to Strictly Come Dancing fans after her latest performance left her breaking into tears.
Vicky Pattison, a former Geordie Shore star, is one of 15 celebrities competing on this year’s BBC One Strictly Come Dancing, an opportunity she called a “dream” but nearly turned down due to her struggles with anxiety.
Last month, she was paired with professional dancer Kai Widdrington, and they performed their first routine together during week one of the competition.
They returned to the ballroom on Saturday night (October 4) for the second live show of the 2025 series, with Vicky paying tribute to her hometown by dancing to “Rein Me In” by fellow Newcastle-born singer Sam Fender.
Vicky and Kai earned 24 out of 40 points for the routine, prompting judge Anton Du Beke to comment: “Dearly departed Len (Goodman) would’ve loved that heel turn.”
At the end of the dance, Vicky was moved to tears, saying she was proud to represent the North East and reflected that she “hadn’t really done a lot of stuff to make the North East proud, especially at the start of my career.”

After Vicky’s performance, head judge Shirley Ballas lavished praise, noting there were “shades” of great form in her routine. Turning to her partner, Kai Widdrington, Shirley suggested that Vicky could “possibly, maybe” go all the way. She added: “You cannot babysit. I’ve danced with you and you are a great strider. I think she’s got the ability, let her keep up with you…” before emphasizing that there was “something special” about Vicky, prompting the contestant to say, “I think I’m going to cry!”
The following day, Sunday (October 5), ahead of the first dance-off and elimination of Strictly’s 23rd series, Vicky took to social media with a heartfelt message alongside striking photos of her and Kai mid-dance. She wrote: “Last night was like a dream… Dancing with my amazing @kaiwidd, to a beautiful @sam_fender song in front of the iconic Tyne Bridge… HOW IS THIS MY LIFE? I’m sorry I got upset, or that I get too giddy and loud when I’m excited… I know I’m a lot but I think it’s just because I care so much and I’m so nervous. Thank you for all your kind words and comments… they mean so much to me.”
Kai quickly responded, saying: “So proud of you partner. You little ballroom queen.” Fellow pro Gorka Marquez reacted with clapping emojis, while Dani Dyer, who had to withdraw from the competition last week, gushed: “Amazing, sooo beautiful.”
