I’m A Celebrity star taken to hospital for emergency surgery and forced to cancel work plans

A former I’m A Celebrity star from the 2009 series has had to cancel all her work plans after being rushed to hospital for emergency surgery, telling fans she won’t be able to film any more videos until at least March.

Kim Woodburn, 82, who appeared on I’m A Celebrity alongside Gino D’Acampo, revealed she’s having eye surgery. She shared a photo on Instagram of a note stating she won’t be able to record new videos until March 7, adding in the caption that it’s “due to surgery to [her] eye.”

The TV personality, best known for How Clean Is Your House?, regularly posts videos for her followers.

Kim also records personalised video messages for her fans, charging £25 each, and previously sold clips on Cameo. Recently, she filmed a Valentine’s message from her sofa.

After sharing news of her upcoming surgery, fans flooded the comments with support, with one writing, “Get well soon, Kim, we love you,” referring to her as “the original cleaning queen.”

A second put: “Get well soon my love wishing you a speedy recovery sending you lots of love xxxx”

A third then wrote: “Get well soon, Kim. Sending love.”

Another fan commented, “Hope you’re ok, dear Kim. Wishing you a speedy recovery xxx.”

Kim, who also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, has previously spoken about her eyesight struggles, revealing in 2011 that she began noticing issues as a teenager.

She has almost no vision in her right eye and limited sight in her left. The former model once explained, “If you watch me closely, you’ll see I never look people directly in the eye and I blink a lot.”

She continued, “If I need to look at something across the room, I have to turn my whole body to use my good eye.” Kim added, “I was born with very limited vision in my right eye and only partial sight in my left.”

CLAP BACK

Recently, Kim reflected on her time in the I’m A Celeb jungle, calling chef Gino D’Acampo a “pig” following his recent scandal. She was the first to publicly speak out against him after ITV pulled his shows over allegations of inappropriate behaviour.

Kim, who finished runner-up to Gino in 2009, claimed he made her uncomfortable on set by touching himself over his shorts and even speaking to it. She also accused him of cheating during a Bushtucker trial, swearing at crew members, and being escorted off set.

According to Kim, ITV covered up his behaviour and gave him a flattering edit. “He was a horrible, vile man a full-of-himself little pig,” she said.

ITV News said it had uncovered damning allegations of inappropriate and intimidating behaviour against Gino, 48.

He denies any wrongdoing.
