Vicky Myers appears to hint at an upcoming Emmerdale crossover for the ITV soap.
Coronation Street fans believe they’ve spotted a hint about Lisa Swain’s future after actress Vicky Myers appeared to tease an upcoming Emmerdale crossover.
Myers, who plays DS Swain, was celebrating on September 29 at the 2025 Inside Soap Awards in London, where she won Best Actress and Best Partnership alongside Alison King, her on-screen fiancée Carla Connor. She attended the event with the Weatherfield cast, supported by Sydney Martin, who plays her on-screen daughter Betsy.
In a red carpet interview with the Metro, Myers mentioned she’d be “on the train back to Leeds tomorrow,” which fans interpreted as a possible clue about her involvement in the special crossover episode set to air early next year as part of ITV’s new soap schedule.
ITV revealed in February that starting January 2026, Coronation Street and Emmerdale will adopt a new schedule on ITV1, creating a weekday “soaps power hour” with 30-minute Emmerdale episodes at 8 pm followed by 30-minute Coronation Street episodes at 8:30 pm. Episodes will also continue to release at 7 am on ITVX ahead of their evening broadcast.
To mark the schedule change, a special crossover episode airing in January was announced, described as having “everlasting consequences for everyone involved.” The two shows’ worlds in Manchester and Yorkshire will be cleverly linked. While the episode is self-contained, its events will affect both communities, with familiar faces departing and new characters arriving in each soap.
Corrie fans have been speculating about Vicky Myers’ role in the crossover. @KatieJukebox tweeted: “TRAIN BACK TO LEEDS? VICKY MYERS IS IN THE EMMERDALE AND CORRIE CROSSOVER.” Meanwhile, @@LisasLip72 suggested: “I wonder if DS Connor-Swain is married by New Year and in January attending a conference in Yorkshire for current or soon-to-be DIs. Maybe Costello has been removed along with Becky, and Lisa gets promoted to take his place.”
