Sabrina Carpenter, one of the world’s top pop stars, apparently had a 20-minute conversation with a stranger while on holiday in Italy a brief encounter that she says taught her more about life than 20 years of conversations in the United States.

Sabrina Carpenter told Vogue Italia, “You learn more about life in a 20-minute conversation with someone from Italy than in 20 years in the U.S.”
While this might sound like a sentiment any young American returning from Italy might share, Sabrina is far from an average twenty-something. It’s remarkable she found the time to chat for 20 minutes amid her Italian adventures, countless photo ops, and a busy entourage.
Imagine being an Italian local going about your day, and suddenly Sabrina Carpenter—with bodyguards, a film crew, and a luxury outfit—approaches you for a 20-minute life lesson. It makes you wonder what was discussed—hopefully more profound than pizza toppings.

Still, at 26, Sabrina has been in the public eye for about a decade, traveling the world and experiencing far more than most of us ever will. Perhaps she genuinely has a unique perspective, and maybe this fleeting conversation really did teach her something invaluable about life.
Oppositely, being that rich and famous and travelling the world probably makes you more detached from reality than anything else could. I suppose it depends on how you look at it. Either way, her fellow Americans are very offended by her comments. I’m sure they’ll get over it.
