The Pitt’ Season 2 Is Here: Returning Favorites, New Faces, and What Cast Members Are Saying!

If you loved Season 1 of The Pitt, there’s great news: the hit medical drama is back for Season 2, set to premiere in January 2026.

This time, the story unfolds during a tense Fourth of July weekend shift, promising even more gripping drama. While the intense storylines kept viewers hooked last season, the cast bringing these stories to life played an equally important role.

Get ready to see which familiar faces will be returning this winter—and start wondering: which return are you most excited to see?

Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch

Noah Wyle, who commanded Season 1 of The Pitt, is returning as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch for Season 2.

Known for his previous roles on ER and films like A Few Good Men (1992), Wyle is set for an emotionally charged season as his character continues to navigate the pressures of the job, personal trauma, and PTSD stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic and the loss of his mentor.

Recently, Wyle earned an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance on The Pitt, highlighting the impact of his portrayal.

Patrick Ball as Dr. Langdon

Patrick Ball is back as Dr. Langdon for Season 2 of The Pitt, returning after a 10-month hiatus spent in rehab for drug addiction. Fans are eager to see how his character has evolved following such a transformative period.

“He’s been on quite a journey,” Ball told Give Me My Remote. “He’s been away from the hospital for 10 months away from the place where he feels most useful and himself, away from his friends and work family. He’s been in rehab and done a lot of soul searching. How that plays out? You’ll have to watch.”

Outside of The Pitt, Ball has also appeared on Law & Order, adding more depth to his acting résumé.

Katherine LaNasa as Dana Evans

Katherine LaNasa, celebrated for her work on Imposters and Truth Be Told, impressed audiences with her role as Dana Evans, earning an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series this year.

She’s returning for Season 2 of The Pitt, and she’s already teasing just how intense and gruesome the new season will be.

“There was something I did already [for Season 2] and I told the producer I think I needed some jewelry for it like he needed to give me some diamonds,” LaNasa told Variety. “You’ll see. It’s in Episode 2. It’s disgusting.”

Fans can expect her character to bring even more drama, shock, and unforgettable moments to the hospital floor in the upcoming season.

Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Mohan

Supriya Ganesh, who plays third-year resident Dr. Mohan, is returning for Season 2 of The Pitt. Before gaining recognition on this series, Ganesh appeared in shows like Blue Bloods, New Amsterdam, and Grown-ish.

Looking ahead to the new season, she hopes to see more depth in her character’s personal life. “I think they explored how lonely she was in Season 1,” Ganesh told Variety.

“Does she socialize more? Is there something going on with her mom? Does she reach back out to her or not? I’d love to see more of her life outside the hospital, to the extent they can show it it would be wonderful.”

Fans can expect Dr. Mohan’s journey to expand beyond the hospital walls, offering a deeper look at her relationships and inner world.

Fiona Dourif as Dr. McKay

Fiona Dourif, known for her roles in Blacklist and Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, is returning to The Pitt for Season 2.

After making a memorable debut as Dr. McKay in Season 1, her intriguing backstory left fans eager to see how her character’s journey will unfold in the new season.

Viewers can expect more twists, deeper character development, and answers to the questions that made Dr. McKay one of the breakout characters of the first season.

Taylor Dearden as Dr. King

Taylor Dearden, daughter of actor Bryan Cranston, had been building her acting career with roles in 101 Ways to Get Rejected, Sweet/Vicious, and more before joining The Pitt. She’s returning for Season 2 as the compassionate Dr. King.

“She’s an R3 now, a more senior doctor,” Dearden told The Playlist. “I assume she takes on much more responsibility, with people coming to her for guidance and her stepping into a leadership position.”

Fans can expect to see Dr. King grow into her new role, balancing empathy with the challenges of leadership on the hospital floor.

Isa Briones as Dr. Santos

Isa Briones played Dr. Santos, an intern at The Pitt who had a lot to learn and required a few mistakes to realize that. Set to return in Season 2, fans are looking forward to seeing how she’s grown in the last 10 months. Before the series, you may have caught her in Goosebumps or Star Trek: Picard.

Gerran Howell as Whitaker

Another character still early in his career, Whitaker captured viewers’ hearts in Season 1 when it was revealed that, as a medical student, he was homeless and living at the hospital due to minimal compensation.

He’s returning for Season 2, and you may recognize actor Howell from shows like Young Dracula, Out There, and Ludwig.

Fans can look forward to seeing Whitaker continue navigating the challenges of his medical journey while facing new personal and professional obstacles.

Shabana Azeez as Javadi

Javadi, a medical student and the daughter of two doctors, had a lot to prove with the amount of pressure and high expectations put on her, and in Season 2, many hope to see her find her footing even more outside of the shadow of her family.

Before The Pitt, she acted in shows such as Nautilus and In Limbo

Who is joining ‘The Pitt’ season 2 cast?

Sepideh Moafi is joining The Pitt cast as Dr. Al-Hashimi, stepping into the role of a new attending physician.

The new season also welcomes several other additions: Charles Baker will appear as a patient, Lucas Iverson and Irene Choi join as medical students, and Laetetia Hollard plays a recent medical school graduate.
