Tennis star Casper Ruud has revealed that he and his fiancée, Maria Galligani, are expecting their first child. The couple, who got engaged last November after six years together, are now preparing to welcome their new addition.

The tennis star, featured in season one of Netflix’s Break Point, announced that he and his fiancée, Maria Galligani, are expecting their first child, a baby girl. Sharing the news on Instagram Sept. 11, he wrote, “The team is growing. See you next year babygirl.”
Alongside the announcement, the couple posted a photo with their dog, Bajas, as Casper held Maria’s baby bump. Another sweet snapshot showed Bajas resting a paw on the baby’s ultrasound, placed next to tiny white booties with pink bows.
Casper, 26, and Maria, 27, began dating in 2018 and got engaged in November 2024 after six years together. At the time, the world No. 12 tennis player captioned his proposal post, “Can’t wait to marry you.”
As Casper’s tennis career has taken off, he has been careful to keep his personal life private, respecting Maria’s wishes.
“It’s her choice,” he told We Are Tennis in November. “We met before I reached the level I’m at now, so things have changed for her too, and it hasn’t always been easy.”
Despite the demands of his tennis career, Casper praised Maria for her understanding and patience with his busy schedule.
“It’s tennis, treatments, media obligations, sponsor commitments—it’s a lot before you even have time for your partner,” he admitted. “She’s been incredibly patient and supportive, and when it comes to social media and the spotlight, she prefers to stay out of it.”
