Few reality shows have captured hearts—and cravings—quite like The Great British Baking Show. Since it first aired in 2010, this beloved baking competition (called The Great British Bake Off in the UK) has become a worldwide favorite thanks to its charming contestants, cozy tent setting, and quintessentially British humor.
Each season, or “series,” features a dozen amateur bakers who face a variety of technical challenges and “showstoppers,” all aiming to be named Star Baker each week and eventually take home the title of champion.
Judge Paul Hollywood has been a fixture from the start, known for his iconic handshake and sharp critiques. Prue Leith joined the judging panel in 2017 after Mary Berry stepped down. The show has also seen a changing lineup of hosts, with Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond currently leading the way.
While there’s no cash prize—just the treasured glass cake stand—many winners have gone on to publish bestselling cookbooks and host their own TV shows. With the latest series premiering on Netflix on September 5, a new champion is set to join their ranks.
Here’s a look at where all 15 winners of The Great British Baking Show are today.
01. Georgie Grasso

Georgie Grasso, the winner of Series 15 in 2024, became the first Welsh champion of The Great British Baking Show. The nurse from Carmarthen wowed both judges and viewers over the 10-week competition with her creative baking. Though she initially doubted herself, Georgie told the BBC in December 2024 that she feels “so incredibly proud,” something she admits she doesn’t say often.
Since her victory, she’s received lots of support, especially for openly sharing her experiences with ADHD, PTSD, and postpartum depression on social media. She regularly posts her baking creations and recipes on Instagram.
Georgie continues to live in Wales with her husband, raising their three children.
02. Matty Edgell

Matty Edgell, the Series 14 winner of The Great British Baking Show in 2023, has experienced major life changes since earning the coveted cake stand. Originally nominated by his then-fiancée Lara Lucienne—who had asked him to bake their wedding cake, Matty ended up winning the entire competition.
After the show, he briefly returned to his role as a secondary school PE and science teacher, joking to Netflix’s Tudum in September 2024 that “nothing humbles you quite like secondary school children.”
Since then, Matty has transitioned into baking full time. He now leads baking classes, keeping his passion for teaching alive, and shares his baking journey with fans on Instagram.
In May 2024, just months after his win, Matty and Lara tied the knot.
03. Syabira Yusoff

Syabira Yusoff, who won The Great British Baking Show Series 13 in 2022, has continued to delight fans with her love for baking on social media. Famous during the competition for her bold use of Malaysian flavors, she now regularly shares recipes and baking tips, and has even reunited with some of her fellow contestants.
Despite her success, Syabira told Tatler in August 2023 that she plans to stick with her career as a cardiovascular research associate.
“Baking was my escape when work got overwhelming,” she explained. “I want it to stay a hobby, not turn into a job.”
04. Giuseppe Dell’Anno

Giuseppe Dell’Anno, the winner of The Great British Baking Show Series 12 and the first Italian to take the title, made a major career shift after his victory. Originally an engineer, he decided to dive fully into the culinary world. He credits his engineering background for helping him succeed, telling Tudum, “It’s no surprise that bakers with a technical and scientific background do well in the tent. After all, baking is just chemistry you can eat!”
In 2022, Giuseppe published his debut cookbook, Giuseppe’s Italian Bakes, filled with family recipes — many drawn from his late father’s handwritten notes. “My dad was a professional chef and baker at heart. He always did it with passion,” he shared with The Independent.
Since then, he’s made various media appearances, including a guest role on Bake Off Italia, and writes a recurring column for Radio Times called the Britalian Bake-Off Review, where he recaps episodes of the show.
Giuseppe also continues to focus on family life, raising his three sons with his wife.
05. Peter Sawkins

Peter Sawkins, a Scottish baker from Edinburgh, made history in 2020 as the youngest-ever winner of The Great British Baking Show at just 20 years old. His win was especially meaningful, as he first fell in love with baking at age 12 after watching the show’s third season.
After his victory, Peter continued his studies in accounting and finance at the University of Edinburgh, according to Netflix’s Tudum.
He’s also published two cookbooks: Peter Bakes in 2021 and Peter’s Baking Party in 2023, both featuring his favorite recipes and baking advice. In 2024, Peter returned for The Great New Year Bake Off special — and won again.
06. David Atherton

David Atherton, the winner of The Great British Baking Show Series 10, made history as the first champion to win without ever being named Star Baker during the season. Since his unexpected victory, he has focused on writing cookbooks, particularly for young readers. His titles include My First Cookbook (2020), My First Green Cookbook (2021), and Bake, Make, and Learn to Cook (2021). He also published Good to Eat in 2021, featuring healthier versions of classic dishes.
Outside of writing, David co-hosts the podcast Sticky Bun Boys with fellow Series 10 contestant Michael Chakraverty, where they provide fun commentary on later seasons of the show.
In his personal life, David married his partner Nik Sariyski in July 2023.

In 2022, Rahul published his first cookbook, Showstopping Cakes, filled with his signature elegant and technically detailed creations. One of his standout recipes — for puff pastry — was even featured in The Times in 2024.
Despite his growing public profile, Rahul continues his work as a research associate in nuclear engineering at the University of Sheffield. On the personal front, he married his wife, Shreya, in December 2022, and they welcomed their daughter, Debeshi, two years later in December 2024.
08. Sophie Faldo

Sophie Faldo’s win on The Great British Baking Show in 2017 marked the start of a major life shift. Known for her precise sugar work and love of French patisserie, the former army officer impressed throughout Series 8. However, Sophie later admitted that the hardest part came after the show ended.
“I really enjoyed the challenge of making it through each episode, but the toughest part was what came next,” she told Tudum. “It’s been a journey to find myself again since then.”
Despite the challenges, Sophie has returned to what she loves most: baking. She now runs her own cake business focused on detailed celebration and wedding cakes, and she teaches baking classes both online and in person. She’s also taken on what she described as a “normal” job, though she hasn’t shared the specifics.
In 2023, she made a brief return to the tent for The Great Christmas Bake Off.
09. Candice Brown

Candice Brown, the winner of The Great British Baking Show Series 7, became a fan favorite with her stunning bakes — especially her memorable gingerbread model of her parents’ Bedfordshire pub, which helped her earn “Star Baker” during Biscuit Week.
After her victory, Candice went on to open a pub of her own, The Green Man, in Eversholt, Bedfordshire, in partnership with her brother. The pub pays tribute to their family’s roots, and she occasionally surprises patrons by personally serving their desserts. “Sometimes people do recognize me and look shocked when I deliver their puddings personally,” she shared with Hello! in 2019.
Alongside running the pub, Candice has authored two cookbooks: Comfort: Delicious Bakes & Family Treats (2017) and Happy Cooking: Easy Uplifting Meals and Comforting Treats (2021).

Her titles include Sizzle & Drizzle: Tips for a Modern Day Home-maker (2019) and Clean & Green: 101 Hints and Tips for a More Eco-Friendly Home (2021).
