Gogglebox star Pete Sandiford stunned Channel 4 viewers when he revealed his real age. Known for his hilarious moments with sister Sophie on the hit show, Pete surprised fans by saying he was turning 30 many thought he looked no older than 18.
In resurfaced 2023 footage, Pete chatted with Sophie about his personal life, sharing how his girlfriend was stressing him out over their daughter Eva’s upcoming birthday.
While talking about his daughter’s age, Pete was surprised to hear that Sophie was 27. He joked, “I’m glad you said it because I was about to say 25. You old cow.” Sophie quickly clapped back, reminding him that he was close to hitting 30 himself.
She shot back, “You’re the big 30 this year. A dirty thirty.” The revelation surprised many viewers, who couldn’t believe Pete’s age.
On X, one fan wrote, “Can’t believe Pete is nearly 30? He looks 18,” while another called Pete and Sophie “absolute icons.” Later that year, Pete celebrated his milestone birthday by sharing a video of a caterpillar cake with 30 candles on Instagram, captioning it, “Name me a better birthday cake. Or three. Happy 30th.”
Although Pete keeps his private life mostly under wraps, he has been happily married to his wife Paige since 2021, and they welcomed their first child together that same year.
In December 2022, the couple announced they were expecting their second child, with Pete sharing the news during a Gogglebox episode.
Their second child, a daughter, was born in June 2023, and Pete introduced her to viewers on the show. While gently holding the baby, he called out to his sister Sophie, asking, “Sophie, did I tell you Eva’s full name? She’s going to be Eva Sylvie Sandiford.”
Sophie, clearly delighted, responded, “I love it!” Pete and Sophie have been beloved regulars on Gogglebox since they first joined the show in 2017.
