Former child star Shelby Young, now 33, looks completely different 23 years after first playing Stephanie in the unaired LazyTown pilot, the character famously known for her bright pink hair.
Shelby, who’s also appeared in Wild Child and American Horror Story, recently shared a TikTok revealing her current look, now with brown hair.
Shelby Young shared a throwback on TikTok, captioning a current photo: “I don’t have pink hair anymore, but there was a time…” She followed it with behind-the-scenes pics from filming the LazyTown pilot in 2002, adding, “(Jk it was a wig).”
Although Shelby only played Stephanie in the unaired pilot, the character later became widely known when Julianna Rose Mauriello took over the role for seasons one and two.

Julianna Rose Mauriello was later replaced by Chloe Lang as Stephanie for seasons three and four of LazyTown, which aired from 2004 to 2007 on Nickelodeon.
The show follows Stephanie as she moves to LazyTown to live with her uncle, Mayor Meanswell. She discovers the townspeople are extremely lazy and makes it her mission to get them active and healthy.
After Shelby Young shared a TikTok about her brief role as the original Stephanie in the unaired pilot, fans flooded the comments with nostalgic messages, saying things like “Thank you for my childhood,” “I was obsessed with LazyTown,” and “I miss LazyTown.”

In a 2023 interview with The Express, Chloe Lang reflected on her time filming LazyTown in Iceland, calling it a wonderful experience. She said she still keeps in touch with many of the cast and crew, describing them as “like a family.” Chloe shared that she tries to visit Iceland every summer, not only to reconnect with friends but also because she finds the country incredibly beautiful.

She also praised the show’s creator, Magnus Scheving, calling him “very inspiring.” Chloe explained that LazyTown was his passion project and that he was deeply involved in every detail — from costumes and sets to props — bringing a strong energy and vision to the show’s production.
