Just a month after getting married, Vanessa Feltz’s ex, Ben Ofoedu, has revealed he’s trying for a baby with his new wife, Vanessa Brown.
The 53-year-old singer-songwriter and Vanessa tied the knot in July during a three-day celebration at Rose Castle in Dalston, Cumbria.
Wasting no time, the couple appear eager to start a family.
Ben told Mail Online, “We are trying for a baby. God is watching, smiling upon us, so we could be very blessed.”
Vanessa added, “Within the next 12 months would be lovely. I’m turning 30 soon, and I think early 30s is the perfect time for me to start a family. So, if all goes well, definitely within the next year.”
They’ve even started picking out the perfect baby name inspired by their honeymoon destination.
He shared, “If we have a baby girl, we’d love to name her Verona.”
Vanessa added, “Verona is such a beautiful name. The Beckhams named Brooklyn after where they conceived him, so we’re following in their footsteps.”
The couple married just five months after Ben proposed to Vanessa on Valentine’s Day in New York, having only started dating weeks earlier.
Ben, who was previously engaged to Vanessa Feltz, used the occasion to criticize his ex, saying, “I wasted 17 years of my life.”
The Phats & Small singer, famous for his hit “Turn Around,” ended his 16-year relationship with TV presenter Vanessa in 2023.
The This Morning star, who recently celebrated with Myleene Klass, has spoken out about her ex’s new relationship, with his new partner being nicknamed ‘Vanessa 2.0.’
She told Best magazine: “An ex is an ex. That person is no longer part of my life, and what they do doesn’t concern me at all. What’s it got to do with me?
“I don’t want to cloud my life by thinking about someone I no longer want to be with. I ended things to move on, not to keep tabs on them. Let them be.
“I gave that relationship my whole heart and soul, but I had no choice but to end it. I prefer not to focus on something that no longer exists with someone I never want to see again.”
The Channel 5 star, who once surprised Lizzie Cundy with a cheeky stunt, is currently single and has struggled to find someone new.
Shortly after splitting from Ben, she had an unsuccessful experience on Celebs Go Dating.
More recently, she went on a date with an older man still grieving his late wife, which left Vanessa feeling like a bereavement counsellor.
TV star Vanessa ended her engagement with Ben two years ago amid suspicions that he had been unfaithful with multiple women.
She described feeling “shock” and “heartbreak” over the singer’s alleged betrayal at the time.
