Coronation Street fans think they have spotted a ‘spoiler’ relating to Catherine Tyldesley’s return as she shared an update from the cobbles.
The actress has delighted fans as it was revealed she would be reprising the role of Eva Price in the ITV soap. It was heavily rumoured that Cath was heading back to Weatherfield as Eva, before Corrie confirmed the news earlier this month.
It’s been seven years since the actress and her Weatherfield alter-ego were last seen on the famous cobbles, with Cath first taking on the role from 2011 to 2018.
According to the soap, she is back filming top secret scenes in Weatherfield and she has been joined by two exciting new additions to the cast – acclaimed actors Aaron McCusker and Pauline McLynn who play Eva’s partner Ben Driscoll and his interfering mother, Maggie.
Corrie fans will recognise Pauline as Mrs Doyle in Father Ted and Libby Croker in Shameless. She also appeared in Eastenders as Yvonne Cotton in 2014. Meanwhile, Aaron is best known for playing Jamie McGuire in Shameless, he also starred as Jim Hutton, Freddie Mercury’s boyfriend, in the 2018 feature film Bohemian Rhapsody.
Eva and Ben will be revealed to residents as the new owners of The Rovers Return in October – putting Eva back behind the bar of the nation’s favourite pub for the first time since 2018.
Also joining the cast will be Ben’s two sons and Eva’s daughter Susie and it is safe to say the Price-Driscoll family will be arriving with a bang and a suitcase full of secrets.
Cath hasn’t yet said too much about her Corrie return, but after the news was announced, she took to Instagram with the first picture of herself back in Eva mode, complete with a pink power suit, alongside her new on-screen family, and the message: “… Hello Weatherfield [pink heart emojis].”
But she has now given further insight into her soap comeback, posting pictures from the famous Trafford-based set and a beaming selfie alongside Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully, in which they can be seen in the Rovers and was quickly branded ‘iconic’.
Alongside the post, which also featured pictures of her family, Cath shared: “Fam, Work, Carrots, Jam, Manchester Sephora launch, Elite 70’s snack, Cobbles and cameras. That is all.”
And fans were quickly excited for Eva’s big return to Weatherfield. @ait.kats said: “I can’t wait to see Eva back on the screen.” @multifangirleditposts commented: “Wonderful pictures. I’m soo looking forward to seeing Eva again!”

Meanwhile, one of Cath’s snaps also got shared on X (formerly Twitter) as fans spotted another familiar face – Adam Barlow star Sam Robertson.
