The ‘real reason’ Liam Gallagher keeps delaying his wedding to Debbie Gwyther after six years

Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has delayed his wedding to fiancée Debbie Gwyther, with whom he’s been engaged for six years, on three separate occasions. The different reasons behind his decisions have now come to light.

Liam Gallagher, 52, has shown just how busy he is as his reunion with brother Noel has taken priority over his wedding plans. Although he’s been engaged to 41-year-old Debbie Gwyther since 2019, the couple has yet to tie the knot.

Between his massive world tour with Noel and Oasis this year, Liam enjoys a more peaceful life with Debbie and their rescue dog, Buttons. Throughout it all, Debbie has been a constant support to Liam, joining him and his children on the sidelines at the reunion shows.

It’s evident that Debbie Gwyther is one of Liam Gallagher’s biggest supporters, even being credited with playing a key role in getting Oasis back together. She’s shown remarkable patience as their wedding plans have been delayed three times, yet she continues to stand by Liam throughout it all.

Liam Gallagher and Debbie Gwyther began their relationship in 2014, shortly after Liam’s divorce from Nicole Appleton. However, the two had already known each other for a year, as Debbie had been working as Liam’s personal assistant.

After five years together, Liam took their relationship to the next level during a luxurious trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy. In the breathtaking setting, he proposed, and Debbie happily said “yes.”

The couple had initially planned to tie the knot at the romantic Lake Como in Italy, but their plans were derailed by the Coronavirus pandemic. Despite the setback, Liam and Debbie remained determined to get married and rescheduled their wedding for 2023.

Unfortunately, the couple’s wedding plans were postponed once again when Liam needed hip surgery. They then set a new date for the wedding, but that too has been delayed, this time due to the Oasis reunion taking priority.

A source revealed last year, “Liam and Debbie are fully committed to each other and aren’t in a rush. They prefer to wait until the Oasis tour is wrapped up before tying the knot, opting for a more intimate, family-oriented celebration.”

The source further told The Sun, “Liam is hopeful that by then, he and Noel will be in great terms, and he’ll be the one leading the show, even choosing his best man. He loves the idea of surprising everyone and sparking some buzz. Liam and Noel have been in regular phone contact; meeting up in person would just attract too much attention, making it difficult to plan anything.”

A few simple words shared on social media on August 27, 2024, set off a frenzy among Oasis fans, igniting excitement for what became one of the most anticipated UK gigs of all time.
