Harriet Cowan, known from Clarkson’s Farm, has been working hard to encourage young people to take an interest in farming, a goal supported by her role in the Amazon Prime show.

Fans of Clarkson’s Farm are already missing the fourth season and looking forward to the next one. The latest series, which premiered on Amazon Prime a few weeks ago, featured Jeremy Clarkson bringing in Harriet Cowan as a new farmhand while longtime star Kaleb Cooper went on a solo tour around the country.
Harriet hasn’t just been a stand-in for Cooper—she’s become one of the show’s biggest breakout stars, with viewers eagerly hoping to see her again in the upcoming season. Her popularity extends beyond the screen, too, as people often show their admiration when they see her in public.
During her brief yet impactful time on the show, Harriet appeared to save Diddly Squat Farm from Jeremy’s chaotic moments, handling tasks like helping with pig births, fixing fences, and even buying new cows.
Since the show premiered, Harriet has received an outpouring of support and compliments on social media for championing young farmers, resulting in many touching moments when she’s out in public.

She talked about her farming life, saying, “When you ask people what comes to mind when they hear the word ‘farmer,’ they usually picture a 60-year-old man wearing a checked shirt with a beer belly. While that’s often true, there are many women like me who are out here farming too.”
“Just because I’m a petite blonde who enjoys curling her hair and wearing makeup doesn’t mean I can’t be a farmer,” she said.
Harriet is determined to challenge the old-fashioned ideas about farming, explaining, “I want to change the perception that the farmer is always a man, and the woman stays at home to cook and take care of the house.”
She highlighted that women have always been essential to farming, especially during wartime, and now she’s working to shatter those stereotypes.

Her role on the show has made a meaningful difference, shown by a touching moment with a young girl. Harriet posted a video of the encounter on TikTok, sharing, “You look happier. A little girl just came up to me and said, ‘I want to be just like you when I grow up.’”
In the caption, she wrote, “This gets me every time, I honestly can’t believe it.”
Since appearing on the show, Harriet’s TikTok following has exploded, jumping from just a few thousand to nearly 750,000 followers, and she’s earned over three million likes.
Her supporters have been quick to praise her, with one person commenting, “THIS IS WHAT GIRLS NEED — role models who are fun, wholesome, skilled, caring, creative, organized, and funny young women.”
Another farmer added, “That’s one of the best compliments you can get. Our industry depends on passionate young people. Well done.”
