Noel Edmonds, 76, and his wife Liz, 55, are set to marry for the fifth time after he proposed in a hot tub at their New Zealand home

Noel Edmonds and his wife Liz are preparing to marry for the fifth time after he proposed again in a hot tub at their New Zealand home.

The couple, aged 76 and 55, moved there in 2019 and live on an 800-acre estate called River Haven, which includes a restaurant, vineyard, pub, and wellness center.

Since their first wedding in 2009, they have already tied the knot three more times—one of which Noel says he can’t even remember.

Noel shared that he and Liz have been married several times. Their first ceremony was a civil one in the Cotswolds. Later, an Anglican minister friend came to their home in France intending to bless them but ended up performing a full wedding ceremony again.

Their friends found it amusing, especially when, while filming on a cruise ship, the captain married them for a third time. They’ve now had four weddings in total and are planning to have one more in New Zealand.

On his show Noel’s Kiwi Adventures, Noel Edmonds shares plans to renovate his home and includes footage of his recent proposal, with plans to marry Liz for a fifth time.

He expressed how meeting Liz changed his life and how excited they are to wed again.

However, their future feels uncertain after severe flooding damaged their New Zealand estate, caused by the Motueka River bursting its banks.

Despite the damage, Noel said they were lucky to avoid injuries or total loss of their livelihood.

Noel Edmonds highlighted the widespread suffering caused by the recent disaster on New Zealand’s South Island, while admitting that he and Liz are still in shock and uncertain about their next steps.

He described how their once-beautiful vineyard and river valley now looks very different after floodwaters surged through the area.

Noel explained that they spent three years building a wellness center, carefully following local regulations and situating it well above the usual river level. But this extraordinary flood hit hard, damaging two treatment suites—one even ripped from its foundations—and covering the main building in mud and silt.

He reflected on how three years of hard work were destroyed in just hours but praised the resilience of the local community. Noel admired how neighbors came together, with many determined to rebuild their lives despite the devastation.

The future remains uncertain for Noel and Liz as they consider their next steps after the flood.

Noel said they aren’t feeling sorry for themselves but admitted they’re unsure what lies ahead, especially since flood damage to a nearby highway could limit access and impact local businesses.

He explained that they now have to reassess their three-year project and wonder what the future holds.

This isn’t their first encounter with extreme weather in New Zealand. Noel recalled experiencing three earthquakes while living on the estate.

During the first, he noticed the surface of his wine rippling. The strongest quake shook the house so much that cutlery rattled, prompting Noel and Liz to grab their dogs and run outside.

Fortunately, the earthquakes didn’t cause any structural damage to Noel and Liz’s property.

Noel also mentioned a dormant volcano nearby—“at least, we hope it’s dormant”—and described the local weather as having a fierce “attitude,” with strong winds, tropical rain, falling trees, and landslides.

His new documentary, Noel Edmonds’ Kiwi Adventure, premiered earlier this month on ITV, following the couple as they adjust to life in New Zealand.

Noel is best known for hosting Deal Or No Deal on Channel 4 from 2005 to 2016, before the show was revived in 2023 with Stephen Mulhern.

After more than 50 years in British TV and radio, Noel moved to New Zealand with Liz in 2018 to start a new chapter. They’ve since opened a hospitality business in the small rural town of Ngatimoti, located by a river.
