Alison Hammond’s 20-year-old son, Aidan, has playfully admitted that he would often leave the house after having arguments with his well-known mother. The pair will be appearing together on the new season of Celebrity Gogglebox, which premieres this Friday.
Aidan, born in 2005, is the child of Alison and her former fiancé Noureddine Boufaied, whom she parted ways with in 2014. Despite their split, they continue to co-parent their son.
Ahead of their Gogglebox debut, Aidan opened up about his relationship with his mother, sharing some moments when they didn’t quite get along. Speaking on the Spin Justice podcast, he recalled times when he would escape to his grandmother’s house whenever things got tense.
He explained, “When we lived in the flat, my nan’s house was just across the road, so when my mum was getting on my nerves, I’d just run over to hers.”

Aidan fondly remembered his late grandmother, Maria, who passed away from lung and liver cancer in January 2020. He shared how close they were, saying, “We were very, very close. It was me, my mum, and my nan — that was our little trio.”
While Aidan and Alison will be regulars on the upcoming season of Gogglebox, they’ll be joined in the opening episode by Alison’s rarely-seen sister, Sandra. In photos from the show, the three are seen together, with Alison and Sandra holding matching mugs.
Alison expressed how excited she was to be sharing the screen with both her son and sister, calling Sandra “fabulous” and saying, “I’m so excited to be doing Celebrity Gogglebox with my son Aidan.”

Alison expressed her excitement about joining Gogglebox with her son and sister, saying, “We’ve always loved watching TV together, and now we get to do it on the sofa for the nation!” She added that it’s a “real family affair,” with her sister Sandra also getting involved. “Expect laughs, eye-rolls, and lots of commentary, classic Hammond style!”
It was also reported that producers were impressed by the mother-son duo after they co-hosted the BBC Two travel show Florida Unpacked. The trio will be part of the new celebrity pairings on Gogglebox, with proceeds going to Stand Up For Cancer.
A TV insider shared with The Sun that the dynamic between Aidan and Alison on their travel show caught the producers’ attention, leading them to bring the pair on Celebrity Gogglebox. They’re always looking for fresh duos to keep the show exciting, and with Alison already part of the C4 family from The Great British Bake Off, she was a natural fit.
