Naomi Osaka beat Katerina Siniakova 6-3, 6-2

Naomi Osaka revealed she was eager to win her second-round match at Wimbledon quickly so she could get home in time to celebrate her daughter’s birthday. She succeeded in her goal, defeating Czech player Katerina Siniakova 6-3, 6-2 in a dominant performance.
The victory marked a milestone for Osaka, as it secured her spot in Wimbledon’s third round for the first time in seven years.
The win allowed four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka to keep her promise of making it home in time to see her daughter Shai on her second birthday before bedtime.
It was also a significant achievement for Osaka, marking only the third time in her career she’s secured back-to-back wins at a grass-court major. Reflecting on the moment, she said, “I definitely thought about Shai’s birthday while I was playing my match.”
Naomi Osaka said, “I was really trying to be focused. I was hoping to be back by 7:45 pm, so I don’t know why I’m doing these really long answers to your guys’ questions.”
Naomi Osaka shared, “I woke up on the morning of the match and kind of laid in bed with her, and I felt really grateful to be living the life that I’m living, because I get to travel with her. It really is a blessing for me.”+
