Coleen Nolan has announced that she’s set to become a grandmother for the fourth time, as her eldest son, Shane, and his partner, Kim, are expecting a baby. The Loose Women star shared the joyful news on Instagram on Tuesday, just days after her daughter, Ciara Fensome, revealed she’s also expecting her first child.
Alongside a heartwarming photo with Shane, 36—her son from her marriage to Shane Richie—and Kim, Coleen wrote: “I can’t actually believe this but I wanted to share with you all that I’m going to be a Nanny AGAIN!”
‘My first born Shane and his lovely partner Kim have just announced they are having a baby and I’m so excited.
‘Wishing them all the congratulations in the world ❤️❤️ I wonder what gender it’ll be?’
Shane is already father to his daughter Amelia, nine, who he shares with his ex Emma Kivell, while his partner Kim also has a daughter, 12, from a previous relationship.
Fellow Loose Women star Denise Welch playfully reacted to Coleen Nolan’s baby news, joking, “Stop!!! It’s not fair!!!” while Lizzie Cundy celebrated with a cheerful “Yay!” and a flurry of clapping emojis.
Shane also took to Instagram to share the special announcement, posting a romantic photo of him and partner Kim on a beach, lovingly gazing into each other’s eyes as he cradled her baby bump. He captioned it:
“Is there ever a right time to tell people? But we think you should probably know, this family is just getting bigger baby.
The most amazing feeling, we’re all so happy and we can’t wait to meet the newest member. @kimberley.s.6 you literally are Wonder Woman and you impress and make me fall in love with you more each day. Roll on November.”
Shane’s relationship with Kim began after a difficult chapter in his life. He found love again in August of last year, roughly a year after his marriage to Miss Great Britain, Maddie Wahdan, ended. The two had married in 2022 following a six-year relationship but split a year later amid allegations of infidelity on Shane’s part.
Speaking to The Sun about the breakup, Shane admitted: “I was really gutted about the marriage breakdown and didn’t think I would meet anyone again. So I threw myself into my gigging career and started performing all over Europe. Then in February I met Kim in Crete and we instantly hit it off.”
‘She has changed my life. I used to be a party playboy but now I am a family man.’
The singer also revealed he has ‘never been more sure’ of a relationship in his life and confessed the pair haven’t argued at all since they met.
Shane also admitted his parents are equally as happy and have already given Kim their seal of approval as he claimed his mum Coleen ‘loves her’ and his father Shane ‘really likes her and approves’.
Coleen is also grandma to her other son Jake’s little boy after he became a father in 2024.
And last week her daughter Ciara announced she is expecting a baby with her fiancé Maxx Innes as she posted a snap cradling her her blossoming bump.
She wore an olive green silk dress as she soaked up the sun while she enjoyed a stroll along a beach.
Ciara also posted a fun snap with Maxx ad they held up an ultrasound scan of their future child.
Alongside the post, she penned: ‘One of me is cute but two tho? Baby Innes pending..’
Coleen’s Loose Women co-star Ruth Langsford flocked to the commments and penned: ‘WONDERFUL! Congratulations!’ Former panelist Saira Khan chimed in with: ‘Wow! ! Congratulations’ alongside a red heart emoji.
Another comment read: ‘Omg massive congrats to you both! ! You two are gonna be the best parents’; ‘OMG, massive congratulations to you both! !’.
After her post, Ciara confessed that she can ‘finally’ start posting her holiday snaps now that she has made her announcement.
The latest family news comes after Max popped the question during a holiday in Vietnam last year.
Ciara posted a photo of the couple holding hands as she showed off her new engagement ring and revealed Max proposed during a late night boat ride.
‘This happened last night xxxx’ she wrote alongside a photo of the ring. ‘It was like a fairytale and I can’t wait to spend forever with you @maxxiness I love you xxx’.
After the news, Coleen shared a photo of the happy couple to her Instagram and wrote: ‘Well what can I say… I’m so so delighted that @maxxinnes has asked my beautiful girl @ciarafensome to marry him.
Coleen Nolan expressed her excitement and affection for her daughter Ciara and her partner Max, writing, “I love them both sooooo much. Miss them even more! Can’t wait to see them. Off to buy a hat,” as she prepares to become a grandmother once again.
She received a wave of congratulatory messages, including one from Loose Women co-star Denise Welch, who commented, “Good news Coleen, congratulations to them both.”
Coleen shares Ciara with her second husband, Ray Fensome, whom she divorced in 2018. Earlier this year, Coleen revealed that Ciara had gone travelling with no set return date, something that left her emotionally struggling.
Speaking candidly on Loose Women, she opened up about dealing with “Empty Nest Syndrome,” telling co-hosts Ruth Langsford, Janet Street-Porter, and Linda Robson, “They’ve worked really hard and saved up and I’m so proud of them both and her, but honestly, I just can’t stop crying… But I’m trying not to do it in front of her because I’m thrilled and proud — what an amazing thing to do. But it’s like losing my best friend.”
Her emotional honesty prompted a blunt response from Janet, who surprised the panel by telling Coleen to “grow up.”
Ruth pointed out Coleen will find hard to get used to her daughter’s absence as Ciara helps ‘run her life’.
Coleen agreed: ‘She is the mother of the house. My son text me the other day and went, “This is going to do you good mum because you need to grow up”‘.
The Blackpool-born star went on to explain that Ciara not only gives a massive help around the house, but she also does a lot of the cooking – easing the workload at home while her mum gets ready for her one-woman tour.
‘It’s just very stressful. Empty Nest Syndrome is real!’ Coleen admitted emotionally.
But Janet quipped: ‘Just speaking for her, she’s got to be allowed to live her own life.’
‘Oh she is being allowed. I don’t have to like it, Janet,’ replied Coleen, with Janet remarking: ‘I know you don’t like it but you have got to grow up a bit Coleen. I never thought I’d say those words. But you have got to manage by yourself.’
Although Ciara had already moved out of the family house in October last year, the Loose Women star found it harder to cope with her daughter’s oversea trip.
