Jeremy Clarkson’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, has gained popularity after appearing on Clarkson’s Farm, and a Big Brother star recently checked it out to see if it lived up to the hype.

Jeremy Clarkson’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, has risen to fame after being featured in the popular Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm. The pub takes a central role alongside Diddly Squat Farm in season four, which dropped three weeks ago and has quickly become a fan favorite.
This on-screen exposure has brought a surge of visitors to the Oxfordshire pub, all eager to try the food, enjoy the atmosphere, and maybe even meet Clarkson. Among the curious visitors was Big Brother star Henry Southan, who decided to visit the pub for a Father’s Day outing.
The influencer, who came third on Big Brother and has 183,000 TikTok followers, was eager to see if the hype around Jeremy Clarkson’s pub was justified.
Upon arriving, Henry was amazed and shared on TikTok: “I’ve just arrived at Jeremy Clarkson’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, with a reservation for Father’s Day lunch for my dad—it feels like arriving at Glastonbury!”

Filming the entire experience, Henry expressed his surprise: “This is the overflow car park—I’m way out in a field and now I have to trek all the way to the pub. Even with a reservation, it’s absolutely crazy.”
He was worried he might miss his reservation due to the long walk and was further shocked to find a queue at the entrance.
“I tell you, this better be the best roast I’ve ever had to make up for the hassle with parking and all this,” he said.
However, when it came to reviewing the meal, Henry’s verdict was sharp: “Really dry,” he remarked, specifically calling out the pork for being particularly disappointing.
Henry wrapped up his video with a simple but telling remark: “Jeremy Clarkson’s pub was… interesting.” But he wasn’t alone in sharing less-than-glowing feedback.
One commenter joined in, stating: “I loved Clarkson’s Farm and everything Jezza does for the farming community, but I won’t lie, when I visited the pub I was SO disappointed!”
Another frustrated patron shared their experience: “We went on opening weekend and didn’t even get to go in the actual pub. Watching the series, I understand why now, but it seriously sucks driving three hours and getting no food.”
Despite the complaints, there were others who defended the pub, likely highlighting the charm of the experience or the food they did enjoy. It seems Clarkson’s pub is definitely a mixed bag for visitors!
The criticism didn’t stop there. One unimpressed TikTok user pointed out the obvious: “You booked… on Father’s Day. Did you expect it to be dead? Did you expect the food to be like it would be if it wasn’t overbooked? Work in hospitality for a bit, and then you’d actually be in the real world.”
Another person added: “Really, did you think you were off to your local?”
And a third sarcastically quipped: “Booked the busiest restaurant in Britain right now — angry when it’s busy?”
It seems some people were more focused on the reality of booking at a high-profile venue, especially on such a busy day, rather than the food itself. The mixed reactions just keep on coming!
Other viewers weighed in with some sage advice for future visitors, encouraging them to keep expectations in check and to arrive with plenty of time to spare.
One viewer wisely noted: “It’s a pub, it’s not Michelin starred, it’s not famed for its food or its facilities, so why expect it? It’s only famous because of the guy who owns it and the TV programme it appears on. People need to lower their expectations.”
Another customer who visited the pub over the weekend shared a more positive take: “I took my dad there for Father’s Day. I went in the pub for a drink but didn’t book for food. That burger from ‘The Farmer’s Puppy’ burger van was possibly one of the best I’ve had in my life. 11/10, fantastic day out, just get there early!”
It seems the key takeaway is to manage your expectations and make the most of the experience—whether it’s a great burger or just soaking in the atmosphere.
