Jeremy Clarkson’s co-star and Diddly Squat Farm worker, Harriet Cowan, responded firmly with a four-word comeback to those who told her to stop wearing makeup.

Jeremy Clarkson’s newest team member, 24-year-old Harriet Cowan, gave a firm four-word reply to those who told her to “wear less makeup” just because she’s a farmer.
With years of farming experience gained from being mentored by her dad since childhood, Harriet’s skills earned her a place on the fourth season of Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon Prime this year.
The stylish nurse-turned-farmer Harriet made her first appearance on Clarkson’s Farm when the first four episodes premiered on May 23. Two more episodes have followed, with the final two scheduled for June 6 to wrap up the season.
Jeremy Clarkson brought Harriet onto Diddly Squat Farm in the season four opener to fill in while popular farm manager Kaleb Cooper was on tour. Fans quickly grew fond of her grounded personality and applauded her for challenging stereotypes about women in farming.
While many fans supported Harriet, she also faced trolls and critics. In a recent TikTok video, Harriet fired back at those who say she shouldn’t wear makeup just because she’s a farmer.

Harriet shared a common comment she often receives on social media: “Stop dressing up and wearing makeup, you’re a farmer.”
In response, she posted a video of herself dancing and lip-syncing to Selena Gomez’s song Hands To Myself, singing the line: “I mean I could, but why would I want to?”
In the caption, she made a clear four-word statement: “Farmers wear makeup too.”
Harriet recently spoke out about breaking farming stereotypes, saying that wearing makeup and styling her hair doesn’t make her any less of a farmer.
She explained, “Just because I’m a small blonde who likes to curl her hair and wear makeup doesn’t mean I can’t be a farmer. For me, it’s really important to change the stereotype of what a farmer looks like. But I’m definitely still farming—you’re never getting me off this place!”
Since appearing on the show, Harriet has been recognized in public but says she’s still not used to the attention and continues to live a “normal” life.
She said, “I’m shocked because I didn’t realize so many people are interested in me and what I do every day. I’ve never really thought of it as anything exciting—it’s just my little life,” she admitted.
She shared, “I get up and farm, go to work, then come back and farm again. Even when I’m walking down the street, people recognize us. It’s absolutely crazy.”
Harriet also hinted at the possibility of returning to Clarkson’s Farm for another season if Jeremy Clarkson wants her back.
She said, “We’ve kept things open. I’m here if he needs me, but there are no plans right now. If he needs me, I’m ready.”
