Peter Andre shared advice on handling “drama with exes” in his latest column, following a recent comment from his ex-wife Katie Price about his current wife, Emily MacDonagh. Katie said their children find it hard to believe she and Peter were once a couple because she and Emily are very different.
On a podcast with comedian Katherine Ryan, Katie explained that she told Emily, “I was with your dad for six years — trust me, we had a lot of laughs and banter.” She added that Emily was surprised because when Katie and Peter were together, they often spent time as a family with the kids, something Katie said Emily doesn’t do with Peter.
Although Peter and Emily didn’t reply directly to Katie’s remarks, Peter did share his views on Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson’s interaction with his ex, Zara McDermott’s new boyfriend, Louis Tomlinson.
In his column, Peter said, “Sam Thompson and Louis Tomlinson were both at Soccer Aid supporting a great cause. Their connections to Zara McDermott are not the main focus for me.”
He added, “People often make a big deal about drama with exes, but we don’t know the full story. Having been involved with Soccer Aid before, I’ve seen that everyone focuses on the game and the cause, leaving personal issues aside. That’s how it should be.”
Pete and Katie met on the 2004 series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and quickly got married the next year. However, their relationship ended in 2009. Katie later said that Peter thought she had been unfaithful during their time together. Now, Katie has revealed that they no longer speak, even though they share two children: son Junior, 20, and daughter Princess, 17.
Katie addressed the reasons behind their breakup, saying that Pete believed she was having an affair with her dressage rider. She clarified that she never slept with him; she just kept her horse there and was happy doing so, and the rider was married.
Still hurt by their breakup, Katie expressed her frustration, saying that Pete kept saying he’d had enough, which led her to think, “Well, f****** divorce me.” She also tried to clear things up publicly by stating that she didn’t want to split, it was actually Pete who ended the relationship. To this day, they’ve never had a proper conversation about it.
Katie, a mum of five, spoke about how difficult co-parenting has been behind the scenes. She said it showed her what people are really like and admitted it’s been tough for her. She described the situation as sad, mentioning that they were kept apart and suddenly split, and said this experience is where her independence comes from.
