Danny Jones’ wife Georgia opens up tearfully about feeling like a failure after his drunken kiss with Maura Higgins

Danny Jones’ wife, Georgia, broke down in tears and admitted feeling like a failure during her emotional first TV appearance since his drunken kiss with Maura Higgins.

The 38-year-old, who shares a son named Cooper with Danny, appeared on This Morning to talk about postnatal depression with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.

She opened up about the struggles many parents face after having a baby, explaining that postnatal depression is a common condition.

The couple, married since 2014, welcomed their son Cooper in 2018.

Speaking openly about her experience, Georgia said the deep love she feels for Cooper now wasn’t always there at first. She explained that the hardest part of becoming a mother was simply adjusting to that new role and how she initially felt when Cooper was born.

Georgia opened up about how becoming a mother wasn’t the instant, overwhelming love she expected. Instead, she felt a lot of pressure and low emotions, admitting she wasn’t always the best person to be around. She said she felt like she was failing at being a mum.

Through tears, she shared how much she hated feeling that way and how each day she hoped to feel better—but often didn’t. She questioned herself, wondering what was wrong.

Georgia revealed she struggled with postnatal depression. Even though she tried to hide it, those close to her, including Danny, noticed she wasn’t herself. Danny found it difficult because he didn’t know how to fix the situation.

Eventually, Georgia sought professional help and therapy, which she called the best decision she ever made. She spoke with experts, including clinical psychologist Dr. Caroline Boyd, and connected with other mothers who had similar experiences.

Talking about that time, Georgia said she felt like she had lost her sparkle. Looking back at old photos, she felt like the person she saw wasn’t really there.

This was Georgia’s first TV appearance since her husband Danny, 38, was caught kissing his former I’m A Celebrity co-star and Love Island star Maura Higgins, 34, at a showbiz party in February.

Just the day before, Georgia posted her first photo of Danny on Instagram as a Father’s Day tribute, despite the drama surrounding his drunken kiss with Maura.

The couple went through a difficult period after the incident at the BRITs afterparty but have appeared to stay together. Georgia, who shares their seven-year-old son Cooper with Danny, quietly posted a photo of both her dad and Danny with the caption: “For the Dads Happy Father’s Day.”

It’s been over two months since Danny and Georgia were last seen in public together. Despite everything, they seemed to show a united front and decided to continue their decade-long relationship.

In late May, Georgia shared an update about her recent life, posting pictures with Cooper and friends, but didn’t mention Danny. Her caption read: “Life lately… Friends, family, filming, fresh air and fun… lots of lovely fun.”

Danny and Georgia’s marriage was shaken after Danny, the I’m A Celeb winner, shared a drunken kiss with fellow contestant Maura at a Universal Records party. Reports also said they continued their night together until 6 a.m., sharing wine at Nobu Hotel.

Danny apologized to Georgia and their family for putting them through this. He has been living at their West London home, where Georgia also lives, after moving back when Danny went on the ITV jungle show in December.

Despite their efforts, friends say Danny and Georgia are like “passing ships,” barely connecting and their relationship feels fragile.

They’ve been taking things day by day, but although they share a home, they hardly see each other. Danny is busy preparing for his summer McFly concerts, while Georgia attends influencer events and works with brands, all while caring for their son, Cooper.

When not working, Danny spends time on his motorbike or at the gym, and Georgia is often on her own or with family and friends.

They haven’t been seen together publicly for six weeks, and behind closed doors, their relationship is far from normal.

Georgia, a former Miss England, briefly moved out of their home after the kissing scandal. However, she later decided to give their marriage another chance and moved back, with sources saying Danny is willing to do whatever it takes to make things work.
