Scout Willis Shares the Perfect Reaction to Mom Demi Moore’s Award-Winning Season

Demi Moore’s daughter, Scout Willis, couldn’t contain her excitement over the recognition her mom has earned for The Substance.
Scout Willis, the middle daughter of Demi Moore and ex-husband Bruce Willis, expressed her pride and excitement as her mom receives well-deserved recognition. At Cure Addiction Now’s inaugural fundraiser on February 24, Scout said, “I am beyond excited, I’m beyond proud of her. It’s all the recognition I could ever hope for her career and for a lifetime of pushing culture forward in really profound ways that I think she was not recognized for.”

The 33-year-old also added, “My mom is one of the smartest, wisest people I’ve ever met in my life.”

So far, Demi Moore has won a Golden Globe and a SAG Award for her role in The Substance. The 62-year-old actress is also nominated for her first Oscar, alongside Mikey Madison from Anora, Cynthia Erivo from Wicked, Karla Sofía Gascón from Emilia Pérez, and Fernanda Torres from I’m Still Here, for Actress in a Leading Role at the upcoming March 2 ceremony.

For Scout, who has been joyfully celebrating her mom’s wins on social media, hearing Demi’s name called onstage is a moment of pure exhilaration.

She shared, “I think I wonder what it’ll feel like, and then when it actually hits—for me it’s beyond anything I could possibly imagine. It’s just like a rush of thrill throughout my whole body.”

Demi has been soaking in the validation that her recognition has brought her.

During her Golden Globe acceptance speech on January 5, she reflected, “Thirty years ago, I had a producer tell me that I was a popcorn actress, and at that time, I made that mean that this wasn’t something I was allowed to have. That I could do movies that were successful, that made a lot of money, but that couldn’t be acknowledged. And I bought in, and I believed that.”

The 62-year-old, who also has daughters Rumer Willis, 36, and Tallulah Willis, 30, with ex-husband Bruce Willis, shared how the label “corroded” her view of her career, making her question if she had already achieved all she could.

She continued, “As I was at a low point, I had this magical, bold, courageous, out-of-the-box, absolutely bonkers script come across my desk called The Substance, and the universe told me, ‘You’re not done.'”
