Holly Willoughby shared a shocking Glastonbury experience on The Graham Norton Show, revealing that she unexpectedly had to clean a festival toilet.
The former This Morning presenter recounted the ordeal while sitting alongside music legend Sir Elton John. She explained that after watching Elton’s headline performance at Glastonbury 2024, she ended up stuck in the festival’s notoriously long toilet queues.
When she finally reached a cubicle, she was met with a horrifying sight.
Reflecting on the concert, Holly said, “I was there and was having the time of my life. You [Elton] were incredible. Everyone knew you were going to be amazing, but honestly, it was magic. Everyone was singing, and it was like the crowd was moving as one—I’d never seen anything like it.”

Holly Willoughby never expected to spend her Glastonbury evening scrubbing a festival toilet—but that’s exactly what happened.
Former This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby recounted her toilet clean-up fiasco on The Graham Norton Show while appearing alongside music legend Sir Elton John.

The 43-year-old Holly Willoughby revealed that after watching Elton John’s headline performance at Glastonbury 2024, she found herself stuck in the festival’s infamous long toilet queues.
She explained, “Elton was the highlight, but then everyone moved towards the loos. After his set, the loos were chaos. It was disgusting, but when you’ve got to go, you’ve got to go.” Holly continued, “I was standing on the loo – you would not want to sit down – and I thought, ‘Oh my god, when I come out of here, whoever comes in next will think that was me, so I can’t leave that.’”
Having always carried wet wipes, Holly cleaned the toilet until it was spotless, saying, “It was perfect. I was back down to earth with a bump after Elton.”
Meanwhile, Elton John, reflecting on his first Glastonbury performance as part of his farewell tour, shared with Mr. Norton, “I had never been and was resistant to playing in case I didn’t go down very well, but I was so moved. I don’t think I have been as happy in my whole life. It was one of the greatest days of my life and it confirmed that it couldn’t get any better.”
In 2023, Holly attended Glastonbury with her husband, Dan Baldwin, and shared glimpses of her experience on Instagram, including one where she posed in a white broderie anglaise dress and a cowboy-style hat.

Holly (pictured with Alan Carr on The Graham Norton Show) said, “I was there and having the time of my life. You [Elton] were incredible. Everyone knew you were going to be amazing, but honestly, it was magic. Everyone was singing, and it was like the crowd was moving as one—I’d never seen anything like it.”
Holly’s return to television comes after a challenging period following her departure from This Morning in 2023. She has openly discussed the struggles of adjusting to life at home, including reconnecting with her three children—Harry, Belle, and Chester.
In one instance, she was seen enjoying the music at a festival with her husband, Dan Baldwin, 50, in a rare public display of affection. She made headlines last year when she missed an episode of This Morning due to the event.
Beyond music, Holly is stepping into new territory with Celebrity Bear Hunt, a physically demanding survival series set in the Costa Rican jungle. Speaking to Mr. Norton, 61, she admitted she was “totally out of [her] comfort zone” while filming alongside survivalist Bear Grylls. She shared, “The magic of Bear is that he is really convincing and inspirational—he even got me to do stuff, and I am the scaredest person ever.”
The show features a star-studded cast, including Spice Girls’ Mel B, Strictly’s Shirley Ballas, and The Saturdays’ Una Healy. Contestants face gruelling challenges, with the weakest heading into a tense elimination round where Grylls himself hunts them down.
The series has already made headlines with reports of Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen nearly drowning in a freak accident and Lottie Moss opening up about her struggles with substance abuse and depression.
Holly’s return to TV follows her candid comments about how challenging it has been to adjust to family life after years of early morning TV commitments. She described the adjustment as “sh* for all of us.”*
